MANILA, Philippines – National University (NU) came alive in the second half to conquer Ateneo de Manila University, 4-0, and regain the top spot in the UAAP Season 80 juniors football tournament on Sunday at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.

Jericho Sinconiegue scored twice, while Daniel Francisco and Joshua Broce also found the back of the net for the Bullpups, who overcame a goalless first half.

NU, who is competing in the juniors football tournament for the first time, overtook defending champion Far Eastern University (FEU)-Diliman at the top of the table with 12 points.

The Baby Tamaraws, who have 10 points, drew a bye in their first game of the second round.

The fourth-running Tiger Cubs stayed at four points while the winless Blue Eaglets are still without a point to show.

Action resumes on January 7 after a two-week holiday break, with FEU-Diliman taking on UST at 8 a.m., and NU facing De La Salle-Zobel at 3 p.m. at the same Malate pitch.
