SUBIC -- The Philippines settled for a bronze finish in the 30th Southeast Asian Games duathlon mixed relay on Thursday, falling behind Thailand and Singapore.

Women’s duathlon gold medalist Monica Torres and Emmanuel “Doy” Comendador completed the event's podium, clocking in at 1:31:35.

"Kahit huli na, pinilit ko po sarili ko na habulin," Comendador said.

Thailand's Kuncharin and Arthit Soda reigned supreme in the 2-kilometer run, 6.6-kilometer bike and 1-kilometer run event.

"We dedicate the gold to the King of Thailand," said Kuncharin.

Singapore, meanwhile, bagged the silver, anchoring its impressive showing on junior triathlon members Emma Middleditch, Ahmad Arif Ibrahim, Herlene Yu and Nicholas Rachmadi.

"Even if we didn’t come first, it’s not the end of the world. We still won a medal. We had fun and tried hard," Middleditch said.
