Former 4-division world champion Nonito “The Filipino Flash” Donaire Jr. believes he’ll be back to his punching ways now that he has returned to the bantamweight class.

Donaire has fought as high as featherweight, but decided to drop two weight classes down after suffering a couple of setbacks.

“I think so, I think I’m back to being the devastating guy. I’ve always been devastating, even at 126 (featherweight), they fear my power,” Donaire said in an article posted on Boxing Scene Tuesday.

Donaire will take on WBA 118-pound titlist Ryan Burnett in the quarterfinals of the World Boxing Super Series bantamweight tournament in Glasgow, Scotland on Sunday, Manila time.

“This is two divisions down and I know that I just have that punch in this division. I just have the scary punch and you just got to watch and see how it really plays out,” said the Talibon town, Bohol native.

But Donaire knows the 26-year-old Burnett should not be underestimated.

“He’s a tough kid, a bit awkward,” said Donaire, who will turn 36 on November 16.

“I’ve talked to him, even before the fight came in. He’s very respectful, a very good kid. But we’re here to get in there and square off.”

The last time Donaire fought was in April when he lost to Carl Frampton during their WBO interim featherweight title match.
