Mac Cardona is set to make his PBA comeback on Sunday when he suits up for GlobalPort's game against NLEX in the PBA Governors’ Cup at Araneta Coliseum.

A GlobalPort official said in a report posted on Spin.ph Saturday that “Captain Hook” will be on the roster against the Road Warriors, who ironically didn’t renew his contract last year.

"Yes, he will play. Hinahabol na iyong uniform niya for the game," team manager Bonnie Tan told PBA beat reporter Gerry Ramos.

Cardona, who had undergone therapy after attempting to take his own life last year, reunites with former La Salle head coach Franz Pumaren and Green Archers teammates Mike Cortez and Ryan Araña.

Pumaren said Cardona's arrival isn't for sentimental purposes.

"His return is very timely because we need additional help from the bench," he said.
