Filipino gymnast Carlos Yulo fell out of medal contention in men's floor exercise of the 2018 Asian Games gymnastics competition at Jakarta International Expo in Indonesia on Thursday.

Yulo, who topped the qualifiers on Monday and entered the final with a chance at a top-3 finish, placed seventh out of 8 finalists.

Two failed landings in his routine proved costly for Yulo, who registered 13.5 points, good for second to last in the field and just ahead of the last-placed Japanese gymnast.

Yulo, 18, has another chance at a medal when he participates in the men's vault competition on Friday.
