Restituto "Buboy" Fernandez, Manny Pacquiao's childhood friend and trusted trainer, won the vice-mayoralty in Polangui town, Albay.

As of the final count at 9:22 p.m. Tuesday, Fernandez got a total of 19,895 votes, beating Atom Borja by 2,184 votes.

Prior to his vice-mayoral bid, Fernandez served as Polangui councilor.

This means he will now have to juggle his time serving his constituents and boxing training, like his best friend.

They are set to return to camp, as Pacquiao takes on Keith Thurman for the undisputed WBA welterweight championship.
