MANILA -- The Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) unveiled new logos for the national basketball team and for the federation itself, as it announced its newly revamped structure.

SBP president Al Panlilio, together with PBA commissioner Willie Marcial, presented the new logos at the Araneta Coliseum on Wednesday shortly before Game 4 of the PBA Philippine Cup finals between San Miguel and Magnolia.

“It’s time to do a refresh, a facelift of the federation,” said Panlilio.

The newly designed Gilas Pilipinas logo, which features an eagle merging with a basketball, will be used for all the Philippine national basketball teams.

Panlilio also announced those who will head the six pillars of the federation, which includes Gilas Pilipinas men’s team, Gilas Pilipinas women’s team, Gilas Pilipinas Youth, Gilas Pilipinas 3X3, SBP Academy coaches and SBP Academy game officials.

Coach Yeng Guiao heads the Gilas Pilpinas men's program, while coach Patrick Aquino will call the shots for the Gilas Pilpinas women's program.

Former Gilas coach Tab Baldwin will serve as the program director of Gilas Pilipinas Youth. He will work hand in hand with Sandy Arespacochaga, who will coach the youth teams for FIBA U-19 Basketball World Cup and FIBA U-16 Asian Championship.

Meanwhile, PBA legend Ronnie Magsanoc will develop the Philippine 3X3 program.

Frormer national team coach Jong Uichico will head the SBP Academy for coaches and tournaments, while UAAP executive Rebo Saguisag will oversee the SBP Academy for game officials.

“We did the reorganization for accountability… We hopefully put the right leaders on those pillars and we’ll measure them based on the objectives of the federation,” Panlilio said.
