SLIDESHOW: Arrival of Tsitsipas, Greece rekindles PH attraction to tennis

The well-attended Davis Cup tie between the Philippines and Greece in Paco, Manila on Friday was a sign that tennis has a place in local sports fans' hearts.

The game is nowhere near as popular as basketball or boxing, but the combination of star power -- in the person of world No. 6 Stefanos Tsitsipas -- and the chance to see the country's top players seemed to give people a reason to be at the Philippine Columbian Association court.

The matches weren't close -- AJ Lim and Jeson Patrombon lost in identical 6-2, 6-1 scores to brothers Stefanos and Petros Tsitsipas, respectively.

But it's at least encouraging to see that for once Filipinos went out of their way to soak in a relatively niche sport, and appeared to love every bit of it.
