Manny Pacquiao's chances of landing a Juan Manuel Marquez fight has gone from slim to none after his long-time Mexican rival said building a legacy, not money, is his prime motivation these days.

“There are rumors on the networks that I have been offered $60 million to again fight Manny Pacquiao but even if they give me $100 Million, I will not fight him,” Marquez said in a report on Philboxing.com.

Marquez said he’d rather face Puerto Rico’s Miguel Cotto than star on a 5th fight with Pacquiao.

“The economic factor is important, but what moves me more is legacy,” explained Marquez in a separate report by Boxing Scene.

“It moves me more to have a great opponent in the ring. With Pacquiao, we closed that chapter . . . Cotto is a great fighter, he has a great legacy.”

Talk about a 5th fight was resurrected when Pacquiao requested a P3 billion from the Department of Tourism to fund a bout in the country later this year.

“Plano ko kasi mag-rematch kay (Juan Manuel) Marquez at dito ko s’ya dadalhin sa Pilipinas,” Pacquiao said in an interview with Boyet Sison and Freddie Webb on DZMM’s "Fast Break" radio show.

Pacquiao has since lowered the price tag to P2.5 billion.
