Through the years, Janice de Belen has become one of the most sought-after maternal figures in the Philippine entertainment industry. While we have already seen different facets of her as a mother, yet there’s one side of her that we don’t see that much – how she is a mom and a grandma to her children and grandkids.

For those who do not know yet, Janice is a loving, supportive, and hands-on mother to her five offspring, namely Luigi, Inah, Moira, Kaila, and Yuan. Her firstborn, Luigi, is her son with her former on-and-off-screen sweetheart Aga Muhlach, while Inah, Moira, Kaila, and Yuan are her children with her ex-husband, “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” actor John Estrada.

Luigi works as a chef and has been happily married to his wife, Patty, with whom he has four charming kids, namely Alejandro, Adriana, Anya, and Ariella. Both Inah and Kaila have followed in the footsteps of their famous parents in showbiz, while Moira and Yuan apparently opted to stay out of the limelight by pursuing other endeavors.

They may not have posted lately about their family shenanigans, probably because they have been busy with their respective lives, but the throwback pictures in this gallery taken from Janice’s Instagram reveal how tightly bonded she and her kids actually are.

In an episode of “Magandang Buhay” in 2019, Kaila gave us a glimpse of how Janice is as a mom to her and her siblings. When asked by the momshie-hosts to describe her, Kaila disclosed that she is a “saktong balance ng strict and lenient,” which enables them to do the things they want to do but still under her rules.

Kaila added, “Siyempre, important din para kay Mama na we spend time with her kasi now that we’re all older, parang hindi na rin kami madalas makumpleto at home kasi three of us are working na and si Yuan nasa school palagi. Bihira lang din kami makumpleto lahat, so if may time na nandoon si Mama sa bahay and we’re all there, we make it a point to eat out together or kahit have dinner at home, manood ng sine. Gano’n.”

Aside from instilling the importance of discipline in them and taking good care of them, Janice also makes sure to stay by their side, listen to them, and give them advice whenever they have problems, which include love-related ones. While the kids were open to her about their romantic lives, Janice isn’t the same towards them, which they totally respect and understand according to Kaila.

With regards to the greatest lesson they learned from their mom, the young actress said that it would be “to become independent”. She stated, “Si Mama, she raised five of us almost on her own. So, parang it’s not something that she instilled in us na sadya. Parang nakita lang namin sa kanya. So, we strive to be on her level of independence and strength.”

In return, Janice’s greatest achievement as a mother is for her to be able to raise them well.
