Out with one, in with the other.

Tropical depression Gener has left the Philippine area of responsibility Wednesday morning while Tropical Storm Helen has entered PAR but is forecast to exit the region within the day.

As of 4 a.m., Helen was estimated based on all available data at 1,150 km east northeast of extreme Northern Luzon. Packing 85 kph winds and gusts of up to 105 kph, it is forecast to move west northwestward for the entire forecast period and may exit PAR Wednesday afternoon or evening.

“Throughout the forecast period, Helen will remain far from the Philippine landmass and will not directly affect any part of the country,” weather bureau PAGASA said.

The other weather disturbance, Gener, exited PAR at 2 a.m. and is now heading towards Vietnam.

Both storms are enhancing the southwest monsoon, bringing strong to gale-force gusts over Zambales, Bataan, Pampanga, Bulacan, Metro Manila, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, and Davao Region.

Palawan, Occidental Mindoro, and Antique will experience monsoon rains while the rest of MIMAROPA, the rest of Western Visayas, Batangas, Zambales, Bataan, and Pangasinan will experience occasional rains.

Metro Manila, Zamboanga Peninsula, BARMM, Caraga, Northern Mindanao, Cordillera Administrative Region, Bicol Region, and the rest of Visayas, CALABARZON, Central Luzon, and Ilocos Region will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon.

Gale warning is in effect over several coastal waters in the western seaboard of Central Luzon, Southern Luzon, and Visayas.
