Influencers face potential ban in Coron after storming mayor’s office over FB comment. The vloggers went to the office of Coron Mayor Marjo Reyes — who was in Puerto Princesa at the time — to complain about  an unfavorable comment they received online from Jho Cayabyab Trinidad, one of Reyes' staff,  after organizing an event to help people there and also to "promote" Coron's tourism.

In a viral video making rounds on social media, Tan and Labador accosted Trinidad, who accused the tandem — called "#TeamMalakas" — of exploiting the people of Coron for their vlog.

Trinidad also said in her social media comment that some people, despite the long wait, failed to receive help from the vloggers.

The comment was made on Trinidad's personal Facebook page, not on official local government channels.

Tan took offense to the comment, saying in a subsequent Facebook post that they were surprised by the number of people who went to their "charity" event. She said police and municipal personnel assisted them with the gathering.

The staff has since released an apology for her comment. Meanwhile, some view the vloggers' demeanor as inappropriate, given that they were inside the mayor's office.

'PERSONA NON GRATA' RESOLUTION PROPOSED

One of the members of the municipality's Sangguniang Bayan — John Patrick Mata, using the Facebook name "Juan Patricio Eyes" — posted on Facebook a proposed resolution to be filed in their next regular session "declaring 'Rosmar' and Rendon Labador persona non-grata in the municipality of Coron."

Declaring someone persona non grata means they are unwelcome in a particular area. The resolution is not legally binding and does not actually prohibit someone from entering a place where they are declared persona non grata.

Mata  said the final resolution would be released after the June 24 regular session.

The mayor's office, through a Facebook post, said Reyes ordered an investigation into the incident. He expressed dissatisfaction with what happened, especially since he was not at the office when the tension occurred.

"Inatasan niya ang nasabing departamento na ikalap ang lahat ng mga dokumento, opisyal na mga reklamo at mga viral videos para sa mga susunod na hakbangin at aksyon na gagawin," the post also said.

(He instructed the department to gather all the documents, official complaints, and viral videos for the next actions to be taken.)

Labador, in response to Reyes' probe order, said in a Facebook post: "Maraming salamat po Mayor Marjo Reyes in behalf of #TeamMalakas supporta po kami sa Coron, Palawan para mapalakas ang turismo at mga nagsisimulang negosyo. Ang #TeamMalakas ay patuloy na tutulong sa mga nangangailangan. #LabLabLabador."
