A 14-year-old boy is now in a homecare facility for allegedly killing his own half brother in Lapu-Lapu City on Friday.

The incident happened in Sitio Lawis, Barangay Suba-Basbas the where half-brothers aged 14 and 5 were playing.

Suddenly, the 14-year old grabbed a rock and hit his younger brother, the police said.

Police Lt. Col. Christian Torres said that when the younger child lost consciousness, the older one pushed him underwater until he drowned.

Based on investigation, the teenager was mad at the younger brother’s father.

“Naglagot siya kay sige siya gipalayas sa papa sa manghud (He is mad because he was kept on being asked to leave the house by the younger’s father),” said Torres.

Police found out that the older one was a child of another partner of their same mother and already separated.

Since he is not criminally liable because of his age, he will be placed under home care.

A full investigation ito the incident is being conducted.
