<p>Towns in the province of Nueva Ecija were left inundated by floodwater on Monday (November 18) a day after super typhoon Pepito battered northern Philippines.</p><p>&quot;We were scared, the winds were strong last night. We were worried our roof would get damaged. The situation is very difficult, this water will turn into thick mud,&quot; said resident Evangeline Garcia who stood in floodwater while cooking outside her home.</p><div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/news/2024/11/18/philippines-cleans-up-after-sixth-major-storm-in-weeks-1300">READ: Philippines cleans up as typhoon death toll rises</a></div><p>Authorities have reported at least eight deaths, along with severe flooding, landslides and infrastructure damage along the path of the typhoon, which made an initial landfall on the province of Catanduanes on Saturday (November 16) followed by another landfall on the province of Aurora on Sunday (November 17).</p><p>Pepito was the sixth tropical cyclone to hit the Philippines in a month, which sees an annual average of 20 of such storms hitting the country.</p><div><em>(Production: Adrian Portugal, Timothy Sim)</em></div>
