“Rainbow Rumble” host Luis Manzano and his wife, Jessy Mendiola, make us believe in true love. They seem like a match made in heaven, and they make love look like an absolute joyride. Maybe it’s in the way they crack each other up or tease each other just enough to keep things interesting. Honestly, we don’t even need to ask them for their secret to a happy marriage—it’s pretty clear that humor is the glue holding them together.

They are living proof that couples who laugh together, stay together. Every now and then, they bring us fun and entertaining vlogs where they take on goofy challenges or just let us peek into their laughter-filled everyday life.

Recently, on Jessy’s YouTube channel, she dropped a new vlog where she and Luis take on a classic 'truth or dare' game. If they’re not feeling like spilling the beans or doing the challenge, they may opt to gulp down one of the “special drinks,” which, as Luis puts it in jest, are not meant for someone with an acidic stomach like him—think shots of vinegar, matcha, lemon juice, honey, and soju.

Jessy got the ball rolling with a “truth,” and the question was: “What does your partner do that irritates you the most?” She didn’t hold back and revealed that Luis has this annoying habit of peeing in the shower. Of course, Luis, ever the witty guy, had a ‘scientific’ explanation ready about how the cold shower triggers the urge to pee. Ah, the compromises that make relationships strong!

Still on ‘bathroom stories,’ the next funny question Luis pulled out was, “What do you think about while sitting on the toilet?” He casually replied that he’s just reading most of the time. Naturally, Jessy asked, “Ano'ng binabasa mo?” and he said, “X.” Mrs. Manzano’s jaw almost hit the floor—she thought he meant he was reading about an ex-girlfriend while on the toilet! But the misunderstanding was quickly cleared up when Luis explained he was talking about "X," the new name for Twitter.

As if keeping up with the theme, Jessy picked a question about whether she clears her search history on the web. She answered that she doesn’t really think there’s a need to clear it and seemed genuinely confused as to why the others in the room were chuckling at the question.

The celebrity couple didn’t hold back from tackling even some spicy questions about their intimate life and sexual fantasies. But when Jessy was asked about the craziest place in the house they’ve made love, she chickened out and took a shot of honey instead!

There was also a question for Luis about whether he ever had a crush on someone at work, and he made Jessy laugh when he jokingly hinted that his crush was Negi, his “Rainbow Rumble” co-host. On a more serious note, he confessed that he used to have a crush on Iya Villania back in the day before they became fellow MYX VJs. However, once they started working together, the crush quickly faded, and they became good friends instead.

Don’t we just love how Jessy’s playful side comes out whenever she’s with Luis? In the vlog, she didn’t hold back from showing off her “hidden” talent, which Luis swears is singing—though she did give a little disclaimer that she hasn’t sung in ages. But hey, she’s got a voice! She gave a sample of a lullaby she likes to sing to their daughter, Rosie, who conveniently wandered over to them right at that moment in the game.

It seemed like luck was on Luis’s side when it came to the dares landing on Jessy, because the next challenge she pulled was to give her partner a lap dance. But Luis was hilariously disappointed when Jessy chose to take a shot of soju instead of doing the dare. “Masama uminom. Mag-lap dance ka na lang,” he joked, trying to get her to change her mind. Nice try, Luis. Lol.

As if their instincts were perfectly in sync, Luis ended up with a similar challenge for his first dare: to do a sexy dance in front of his wife while flexing just one leg. Of course, he wouldn’t back down from that!

And in the succeeding round, he even pulled off a prank call to a friend, pretending he needed to borrow some money. But at one point, Luis got a bit lazy and decided to down a shot of lemon juice rather than take on the dare, which was to reenact a scene from their favorite movie.

One of the funniest moments came when Jessy had to check her husband's Instagram chat messages, and she was surprised to discover that Luis was planning—yet again—to buy a new watch! It was all good vibes, though, because Jessy isn't the type to snoop through her husband's phone; she’s confident there’s no reason to.

But it’s not all fun and games—there are some valuable lessons here for married couples, too. Take Jessy and Luis’s thoughts on lying, for example. They believe that white lies aren’t a big deal as long as they’re meant to protect the other person. When Jessy was asked if she’d ever lied to Luis, she said she might bend the truth for small issues, but when it comes to major ones or if she senses someone might be a bad influence on Luis, she’s totally upfront and honest.

“Never ako nagsinungaling sa kanya lalo na about friends kasi, for me, importante na masabi ko sa kanya. So, ‘pag may nasasabi akong, ‘May mali talaga sa taong ‘to,’ sinasabi ko rin [kay Luis]. Kahit pa mag-away kami nang todo, basta masabi ko sa kanya na ‘yung basa ko sa tao ay hindi maganda,” she said.

On a related note, Jessy got real when asked about a time they almost broke up. She admitted they did go through a rough patch, and it was largely due to the people around Luis. “Kinasal kami, the next day, inaway-away ako no’ng taong ‘yun,” she spilled, keeping names out of it. “Kaya pala siya galit na galit sa akin kasi may tinatago pala siyang sikreto na karumal-dumal na malala. So, parang, doon ko naamoy na, ‘May something ‘tong tao na ‘to. Bakit parang galit na galit siya na kinasal kami?’”

Jessy added that, of course, she let Luis know about her bad vibes toward those two people, warning him that they might not be good for their relationship and family in the long run. But this led to a major argument since Luis wasn’t buying Jessy’s gut feeling.

“Kulang na lang kampihan n’ya yung mga tao na ‘yun. Tapos, naupo ako, parang, ‘Teka lang. Ako ‘yung asawa, ‘di ba? Bakit parang hindi niya ako pinapaniwalaan?’” She recalled how intense their fight got, with Luis sticking up for those people, insisting they were good because they were practically family. Jessy even thought, “Hindi ka pwedeng maging tatay kasi either piliin mo yung pamilya mo o piliin mo ‘yung mga kaibigan mo na hindi okay sa’yo.”

She even told her mother-in-law, Vilma Santos, that she was ready to give up on the marriage because, as she put it to Vilma, “Hindi na po ako pinapakinggan ng asawa ko.”

Vilma advised Jessy to hold on since they were just starting out in their married life. Luckily, Jessy took that advice to heart, even though she was going through a tough emotional time. In the end, her patience paid off when the true intentions of those people were finally revealed. She felt vindicated. It wasn’t an easy road, but Jessy doesn’t regret standing up for what she believed was the truth. At the end of the day, she managed to protect her husband and their family.

That’s why Jessy’s advice to all the husbands tuning into their vlog is, “Ang asawa n’yo, sila talaga ang magbe-break or make sa inyo, so kailangan ang mga babae, ‘pag may nararamdaman sila about you or about sa paligid mo, dapat pakinggan mo kasi for your own good ‘yun.”
