It's pageant season once again! Miss Universe Philippines just introduced the Top 40 candidates for its fourth edition. A new roster of 'phenomenal, transformational Filipinas' were presented by the organization over the weekend for Miss Universe Philippines 2023.
Among the candidates were former Miss Universe Philippines contenders and past pageant winners, like Miss Grand International Philippines 2021 Samantha Panlilio, Reina Hispanoamericana 2021 3rd runner-up Emmanuelle Camcam, 2022 Miss Universe Philippines Tourism Michelle Dee, and 2022 Miss Universe Philippines Charity Pauline Amelinckx.
The winner will represent the Philippines at the 72nd Miss Universe pageant to be held in El Salvador. She will succeed Celeste Cortesi who, unfortunately, did not make it to the semi-finals of Miss Universe 2022 in New Orleans, Louisiana in the United States last January.
Through her “transformational leadership,” new Miss Universe owner Jakkaphong “Anne” Jakrajutatip said in her speech at the 71st Miss Universe pageant that she wants to elevate women to “feel strong enough, good enough, qualified enough, and never be objectified again.”
