Star Magic is known for, well, its magic in producing showbiz’s next generation of stars. They have been showering their artists with the much-deserved recognition and celebration. From the Star Magic U.S. Tour and the Star Magical Christmas Party last year, this 2023, to honor its up-and-coming artists, ABS-CBN’s talent management arm staged its first-ever Star Magical Prom to showcase the young multi-hyphenates who are making their career milestones in the industry.

Held on March 30 at The Bellevue Manila in Muntinlupa City, the Star Magical Prom was an evening of glitz and glam as the most-coveted love teams, youth ensembles, pop groups, and sought-after solo musicians, actors, and actresses in the industry dressed up for a night of spectacle—socializing, dancing, and cotillion.

Hosted by Edward Barber and Ai dela Cruz, the ivory carpet and ceremony was graced by the country’s hottest celebrity figures and in-demand love teams. Among the award recipients were Prom King and Queen Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano, Freshman Prince and Princess Raikko Mateo and Krystal Mejes, Sophomore Prince and Princess Mackie Empuerto and Jayda Avanzado, Junior Prince and Princess Reiven Umali and Anji Salvacion, and Senior Prince and Princess Brent Manalo and Vivoree Esclito.

Dirty Linen stars Seth Fedelin and Francine Diaz (who won Most Viewed Promposal and Most Kilig Promposal) and real-life partners Ricci Rivero and Andrea Brillantes (who snagged Most Creative Promposal and Best Promposal) were also present at the star-studded prom. P-pop groups BGYO, BINI, and HORI7ON added spice to the magical gathering, too.

The Debutantes and Sweet 16 portions made an impact at the historical prom as well. The young debutantes, who commemorated their debut, consist of Krystl Ball, Ericka Peralejo, Sheena Catacutan of BINI, Noelle Martinez, Aicy and Trisha Fabe, Sheena Belarmino, Trisha Gomez, Misha de Leon, Angelica Lao, Haira Palaguitto, Reich Alim, and Criza. The Sweet 16 circle, on the other hand, celebrated their birthdays at the Star Magical Prom.

Mutya Orquia - Starting her showbiz journey at an early age, Mutya Orquia is best known for her portrayal of the titular character in her debut fantaserye, “Mutya,” in 2011. Prior to her breakout stardom, she landed her first acting role in 2010 as Jessy Mendiola’s younger version in the primetime series “Sabel,” top-billed “Mutya” at only 4 years young in 2011, and was cast in “My Binondo Girl” in the same year. She also snagged Best Child Performance at the 4th FMTM Awards for TV Entertainment for her role in the longest-running daytime show “Be Careful With My Heart.”Stephen Capuchino

- From the adorable little mermaid who captured our hearts to a young lady now in full bloom, Mutya Orquia continues to seize people’s attention with her then-innocent charm to her glowing looks as a coming-of-age lady. The teenage actress, who relived her 16th birthday (she turned 16 in May 3 of last year) at the first-ever Star Magical Prom, is truly all grown-up.Stephen Capuchino

Krystal Brimner - You may have chanced upon this curly-haired girl charmer in Resorts World Manila’s theater musical “Annie,” but it is through the highly-acclaimed crime-drama film “Honor Thy Father” that Krystal Brimner has made her presence felt further in the show business scene. Here, she debuted as a film actress and played the daughter of none other than John Lloyd Cruz’s character. She has since been an artist worth watching in local showbiz. Stephen Capuchino

- Following this memorable acting chop, Krystal—who turned 16 in December 2, 2022—has appeared in several television content and projects in the Kapamilya network. In fact, she has been performing as a regular in noontime show “ASAP Natin ‘To” via the trio ensemble A.S.K. with AC Bonifacio and Sheena Belarmino, has been cast in ABS-CBN’s since-cancelled offering “Kahit Minsan Lang,” and in the musical film “Song of the Fireflies.” The Fil-Scot artist also released her five-track debut extended play (EP) “Let Me Be Me” under Star Pop last 2022.Stephen Capuchino

Hannah Lopez Vito - Another one of the Sweet 16 lovelies who were presented at the glittery Star Magical Prom was teen artist Hannah Lopez Vito, who turned 16 in September 14 last year. This mestiza beauty skyrocketed to fame when she performed the character of Kitty Noble in the 2017 television series “A Love to Last.” She is the daughter of Ian Veneracion’s character in the show.Stephen Capuchino

- And, as a new gem in the industry, Hannah showed clear-cut signs of stardom early on through her promising acting skills. We have seen her switch from one emotion to the other with little struggle, and her undeniable charisma has definitely tugged at our heartstrings. She was also part of the 2016 teleserye “Dolce Amore” and the 2019 film “You Have Arrived.” (Wearing a Jerome Campano gown)Stephen Capuchino

Jana Indanan - Former “Pinoy Big Brother” housemate Jana Indanan also relived her Sweet 16 milestone at the first Star Magical Prom. She went to the event with her fellow “PBB” alum Paolo Alcantara, who promposed and popped the question to the beautiful damsel by taking her out on an arcade date. Stephen Capuchino

Kendra Aguirre - Kendra Aguirre kicked off her career in the entertainment sphere by joining the prestigious global competition World Championship of Performing Arts and bringing home accolades with her. With Kendra’s God-given voice, there was no doubt that she was also hailed as one of the grand champions of the singing contest “The Voice Teens Philippines: Season 2” in 2020. She shared the winning title, cash, and house and lot prizes with three other contenders: Heart Salvador; Cydel Gabutero; and Isang Manlapaz. Under the tutelage of her coach—pop superstar and all-around performer Sarah Geronimo—Kendra amassed a final score of 44.17%.Stephen Capuchino
