Held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum last June 2, this season’s All Star Games was full of action and courtside activities. Star Magic’s All Star Games 2024 Main Basketball Showdown, for one, was kicked off with a parade of participating players, and two powerhouse teams were the crowd’s bets for the basketball event: the Star Magic Dream Team/Shooting Stars Red and the It’s Showtime All Stars.

Captained by Kapamilya actor Gerald Anderson with Barbie Imperial as muse, Shooting Stars Red featured a roster of stars with athletic prowess including Miko Raval, Paolo Gumabao, and RK Bagatsing. Carrying the banner of It’s Showtime All Stars, meanwhile, are It’s Showtime hosts Vhong Navarro and Jhong Hilario.

Wrapping up the grand finale with a score of 85-74, Shooting Stars Red shone on the hardcourt and bested defending champion It’s Showtime All Stars. JV Capunan bagged the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award, and is part of the Best Five/Mythical Five of the main event, too, which consists of other key ballers like Red’s Lance Carr and Argel Saycon, and Showtime’s Ion Perez and Derrick Hubalde.

Prior to the Main Event, a Basketball Game 1 awarding ceremony transpired as well. YouTube sensation Cong Velasquez headed and coached his Anbilibabol team, working alongside his teammates Junnie Boy, Burong, Nelson Mendoza, Mentos, and Dudut.

Marching on with pride were the Star Magic Shooting Stars Blue Team as well, with Coach JJ Espanola and Assistant Coach Jude Paulite as its helmsmen, and Donny Pangilinan, Seth Fedelin, Ronnie Alonte, and Joao Constancia as the main squad. The bunch’s muse was Francine Diaz. Tallying a total of 27 points, Ronnie stole the show as the match’s MVP, while Donny emerged with 16 points.

Star Magic Lady Setters and Star Magic Lady Spikers, on the other hand, officially opened the volleyball event with a parade, too. Janah Zaplan, BINI Mikha Lim, and Isabel Laohoo took charge of Lady Setters, while two-time Star Magic All Star Games’ MVP Analain Salvador bannered Lady Spikers.

On Sunday, Lady Spikers defeated Lady Setters in three sets, with Awra Briguela leading the points of the winning team. However, Analain, once again, took home this year’s Most Valuable Player title for the sport. Volleyball’s Mythical Six, however, was composed of Awra, Reign Parani, Anji Salvacion, Janna Zambran, BINI Mikha, and Vivoree. Special Plums recipients include BINI Mikha, Analain, Awra, and Leona Andalio.

In the heat of the competition, meanwhile, DonBelle’s fandom Bubblies felt the kilig atmosphere all the way as Belle Mariano continued to shower Donny with support. Donny’s youngest sister Solana was present at the venue as well and even accompanied Belle to give Donny the loudest and warmest cheer.

Performances from the newest P-pop group WRIVE and the nation's P-pop girl group BINI added to the excitement, too.
