Composed of Shana, Chanty, Yue, Bessie, Seowon, and Haeun, this clique of charmers is carving their names as a new-generation girl group in K-poplandia and fast-becoming buzzworthy in Hallyu. SHANA - Lapillus’ Japanese lead vocalist and leader Shana is seen as the group’s stronghold as she has constantly been the tough cookie among the girls. She is always ready to fight for her fellow rookies and stands up for them if the situation calls for it. “For me, she has the strongest personality in a way. It’s not like she’s mean or anything. It’s just that she has this 'I’ll-stand-up-for-my-girls' kind of vibe. She has a very strong personality,” Chanty told Metro.Style. Bessie also looked back on her early beginnings with their lead, saying, “Shana was the first member I met and the first member who got very friendly with me.” As for Yue, Seowon, and Haeun, they all think that Shana is cute. “I think at the time,” Yue recalled, “I thought she was so cute because she was really tiny! She also didn’t have makeup on [but] she was super cute.” Ria Regino

CHANTY - As the visual and one of the vocalists of the group, Chanty is easy to remember for each LAPILLUS member, as her lovely face makes it fast for her to draw attention. She is deemed perfect by her peers and is indeed becoming an icon of beauty to the team. The Filipino-Argentinian talent also has a pleasing personality, according to Seowon. “She’s very kind—[a] very good person,” she declared. Shana definitely thinks that Chanty is confident, too, sharing, “Chanty shines very bright because she has very good confidence.” Yue, on the other hand, first noticed the features of Chanty: “Immediately, I was in love with her face.” Haeun, however, speaks of her differently. “Because she looks so perfect, she looked kind of a bit scary, too,” she said, giggling. Bessie, finally, backed it up: “She’s kind of a scary girl but when I started talking to her, I found her really cute and very beautiful.”Ria Regino

YUE - Chinese-American dancer and vocalist Yue is a dream combination of cool, chic, and classy, based on the testimonies of her teammates Shana and Chanty. Shana said, “[She is] so cool [and] chic!” Chanty also gushed about how great Yue’s appearance is: “I’d say she is very chic. She has this type of vibe that she just looks so classy. When I first met her, she just looked so expensive. This [is] a chic girl!” At first meeting, Haeun immediately noticed Yue’s striking American features. Seowon thought Yue seemed scary. But Bessie has loved her since then: “Yue is a very good person for me because the first time we met, Yue was like, 'Oh Bessie, you’re so cute! You’re very cute.' She gave her big love to me, so that’s the reason why I really like Yue.”Ria Regino

BESSIE - “Unique” was the word that Shana used when she was asked to sketch Bessie in a single adjective, while Seowon and Haeun perceived her as a “hip” person. Seowon vouched for the Korean rapper-vocalist’s raw appeal and aesthetic: “She’s very hip! She’s like a hipster.” Haeun’s statement also supported this statement. “Bessie looks very hip—like a person with a hip hop style,” the maknae said. As for Chanty, she admires Bessie and it was her voice that she was particularly drawn to. “The first time I met her, all I could focus on was her voice. She was just the singer for me. She’s the singer,” she emphasized. Yue, however, explained how she gravitated toward the girl: “When I met Bessie, immediately, I felt super close to her, maybe because of our age—we’re the same age. I just felt like I could talk to her immediately.”Ria Regino

SEOWON - While Shana’s first impression of their friend Seowon is a “mysterious person,” Chanty found her as the “shy type.” The Korean rapper was thought of as scary by Bessie and Haeun, but as they have spent their time together, the clouded perception had changed. “[During] the first time, I was like, 'Oh, I think I’m not going to be friendly with her,' but as time passed, I also had time with Haeun and Seowon together. I [became] really close to her,” Bessie shared. Yue’s recollection of Seowon, on the other hand, was hugely focused on her features. With a physique like Seowon’s, it was no surprise that Yue noticed her looks first and based her first impression on that scale. Yue shared, “When I first met Seowon, I thought she was so tall even though she was a lot younger than me!”Ria Regino

HAEUN - The maknae among the members, Haeun, is the girl group’s baby. The Korean dancer is only 13, so she is best described by her colleagues as youthful and cute. In an interview with Metro.Style, Shana endearingly described her as a “monkey.” The group leader exclaimed, “Haeun looked like a monkey because she looks very cute!” Haeun also earned the right to receive extra care from the entire clique. A “baby” is what Chanty considers her to be: “Haeun is just like a baby to me. She’s a baby.” Yue’s first memory of Haeun was when she found out about her age. “When I met Haeun, I was so shocked. She was so young! She just felt like a little kid, you know? I really wanted to take care of her,” she told us like a true unnie. As for Seowon and Bessie, they simply thought and guessed that Haeun is the youngest girl in their team, perhaps given the glow she exudes.Ria Regino
