Reuters/file photo</figcaption></figure></div>(UPDATED) Six employees of a ground handling company face criminal charges for allegedly stealing an overseas Filipino worker&#x27;s baggage at the Clark International Airport.In a statement, Clark International Airport Corp. (CIAC) said ground handler Miascor has filed qualified theft charges against the six suspects, who were also fired from their jobs Friday morning. “After a thorough investigation with CIAC, we have served a notice of termination to six of our passenger service agents who admitted to pilfering the baggage of OFW Jovenil Dela Cruz of Pandi, Bulacan,” Miascor president Herman Reyes said.Miascor is under contract with airlines that service flights in Clark, and handles baggage of passengers. The suspects allegedly ransacked Dela Cruz&#x27;s baggage inside the Miascor office at the airport terminal, according to CIAC. CIAC has also filed separate theft charges against the six suspects at the City Prosecutor&#x27;s Office in Mabalacat, Pampanga, and has banned them from entering the airport premises.“Thievery has no place in CIAC, whether those involved are airport staff, groundhandlers or contracting parties. Let this filing of criminal charges be a warning to all,” CIAC acting president and chief executive officer Alexander Cauguiran said. Miascor said it has settled with the OFW for the lost items amounting to P82,824.00.
