It’s the moment every early 2000s indie rocker and pop-punk kid have been praying for - Arctic Monkeys, the British indie pop-rock band who were culprits of reinvigorating an entire genre of music and moving throngs of new music fans across the globe, is finally flying to Manila in their first-ever show in Southeast Asia this March 6 (Monday) at the Filinvest City Events Grounds, Alabang.

The show is produced by Karpos Multimedia, who are also producing the two-day Wanderland Music and Arts Festival happening on the same venue this March 3 and 4.

Matt Helders, Jamie Cook, Nick O’Malley, and Alex Turner first emerged into the music scene with their groundbreaking 2006 debut Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not. Mixing whopping guitars in an alternative and garage rock influenced-style with virtuoso, deep lyrics delivered in lead vocalist Turner’s well-defined Sheffield twang, Arctic Monkeys piloted a wholly new era in indie rock. The group promptly followed up their debut with the similarly loud and relentless Favourite Worst Nightmare in 2007.

The concert is part of the band’s tour in support of their latest release, The Car, which finds Arctic Monkeys amping up the minimalist, lethargic sounds of their prior album Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino.

Regular tickets still available at www.tickelo.com.
