Rescue workers were seen rappelling into the rubble of a collapsed building in Bangkok on Sunday (March 30) morning, as 47 people remained missing or trapped under rubble - including workers from Myanmar.

The building, which was under construction, toppled down on Friday (March 28) after a powerful 7.7 magnitude earthquake in Myanmar sent tremors to the Thai capital, 1,000 km from the quake’s epicenter.

Road sweepers were seen gathering in the road adjacent, as diggers moved rubble at the site of the collapse.

At least nine people have been killed in the Thai capital, according to city officials, with eight coming from the collapsed building and one at another location.
