As Pope Francis' health improved and, according to his doctors, he showed "good response" to his treatment, people continued to pray for Francis' recovery outside Rome's Gemelli Hospital on Tuesday (March 11).

Francis, 88, has been in Rome's Gemelli hospital for more than three weeks. He was admitted on February 14 with a severe respiratory infection that has required evolving treatment.

On Monday (March 10) Vatican said the pope was showing a "good response" to his treatment for double pneumonia and his doctors have determined his prognosis was no longer guarded.

''It was wonderful news not only for me but for the whole world. We are overjoyed about it this morning. There is no better news today'', Rome resident, Rosa, said.
