U.S. President Donald Trump on Thursday hosted a Black History Month reception at the White House and was joined by American top-ranked golfer Tiger Woods.

After receiving a standing ovation from the attendees, Woods took the floor and said he was honored to accompany the newly appointed President.

Trump praised "generations of black legends, champions, warriors and patriots" that have been part of American history and announced the creation of a statue garden for American heroes.

February 20 also marks one month since Trump's return to the White House. Mass deportations, widespread firings of federal employees, dozens of executive orders, and a sweeping government restructuring have characterized the past four weeks.
