German Defenwe Minister Boris Pistorius called remarks made by U.S Vice President JD Vance about Europe "not acceptable" on Friday.

Vance had criticized Europe during a speech at the Munich Security Conference for what he described as censorship of free speech and political opponents.

"He spoke of the annulation of democracy and, if I understood him correctly, he compared conditions in parts of Europe with those in authoritarian regimes. Ladies and gentlemen, that is not acceptable," Pistorius said in response to these remarks.

Pistorius added that he 'strongly opposes' the impression given by Vance that Europe was suppressing or silencing minorities.
