Drone footage showed fire crews battling blazes in buildings surrounding the crash site of a small plane in Philadelphia, as aircraft parts and debris littered the area, on Friday (January 31) night.

A medevac plane crashed soon after takeoff in Philadelphia on Friday with a child and five others on board, the air ambulance company that operated it said, adding that it had not confirmed any survivors.

Drone footage obtained by Reuters showed emergency services on the scene, as burnt out vehicles were seen in the streets. Reuters was able to confirm the location from nearby business signages, road and street layout that matched file and satellite imagery of the area. The date was confirmed by original file metadata.

Meanwhile, the street where the plane crashed was covered in wreckage in the early hours of Saturday.

The tarmac was covered in burned out cars and plane debris and some buildings were charred.

The Federal Aviation Administration said six people were on the Learjet 55 that crashed around 6:30 p.m. (0030 GMT) on Friday. Local media reported it was near the Roosevelt Mall in northeast Philadelphia and that there were multiple injuries on the ground.

The Mexican government said all those on the plane were Mexican nationals, CNN reported.

The crash follows this week's collision of an American Airlines jet and a U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopter over Washington, D.C., which killed 67 in the deadliest airplane crash in the U.S. since 2009.

U.S. President Donald Trump posted a message on X after a medevac plane crashed soon after takeoff in Philadelphia on Friday (January 31) with a child and five others on board.

The Philadelphia Eagles, NTSB, and political leaders also reacted to the crash. The air ambulance company that operated the plane added that it had not confirmed any survivors.
