The Jeromin family set the world record for the largest number of decorated Christmas trees in one place with 605 trees, as confirmed by the Record Institute for Germany (RID) - and with 120,000 ornaments, 50,000 lights and thousands of Christmas figurines, the place is bursting with sparkle and colour.

"That's just awesome," record-holder Thomas Jeromin told Reuters TV of his love for Christmas decorating, pointing out that he finds the process "relaxing". "I think it's really great when all the stuff is standing around here, glittering and shining," he added.

The trees fill almost the entire house, including the bathroom, but there are two rooms that are off-limits - the bedroom and their daughter's room.

"There is always a room somewhere - or a spot, or a corner, or ceilings, or walls," said Susanne Jeromin, explaining how they managed to fit so many trees into their house.

The Jeromin family had already broken the same record six times in the past - they held the title from 2017 to 2021 and then again in 2023. Last year, the number that earned them the record was 555 trees, but the couple didn't stop there as they were intrigued to see "what else is possible".
