The migrant caravan in southern Mexico went ahead with its journey to the U.S. on Monday (December 2) and walked to their next stop, Huehuetan, Chiapas.The caravan, made up of hundreds of migrants, started its journey at the border town of Tapachula. The group, which includes many children, was escorted by municipal police and National Guard vehicles.<div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/world/2024/11/30/guatemalan-migrant-struggles-to-reach-us-1725">Guatemalan migrant struggles to reach US</a></div>Migrants, particularly those fleeing political and economic instability in Venezuela, expressed anxiety over heightened entry challenges as Trump&#x27;s administration could tighten border security and limit asylum avenues.&quot;There&#x27;s so much uncertainty one has as a human being, seeing so much sacrifice one has made to get here,&quot; said Venezuelan migrant Romercy Alvarez.Their greatest concern is that by January 2025, when Trump takes office, the border will be closed, and they fear that Mexican authorities will step up immigration enforcement within their borders.&quot;Migration is something that has existed throughout life and that for better or worse, this is not going to stop,&quot; said Venezuelan migrant Javier Mora. &quot;I think there is going to be more control which is important,&quot; he added.(Production: Jose Torres, Diego Delgado, Gloria Lopez)
