The ministry said the Korean government has implemented "enhanced safety measures across all regions frequented by tourists and international events."

The statement comes after South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol triggered a national crisis by briefly declaring martial law, which was dramatically reversed by lawmakers, who battled heavily-armed soldiers in parliament to vote it down.
