Aparri, Dagupan face 45-degree heat index; ITCZ affects Mindanao, Palawan

A total of 27 areas are facing dangerous heat index levels of 42 degrees Celsius and above on Monday, with temperatures reaching as high as 45 degrees Celsius in Aparri in Cagayan and Dagupan City in Pangasinan.

Weather bureau PAGASA said the following areas are facing danger heat index levels on Monday, May 19:

NAIA Pasay City, Metro Manila - 42

Science Garden Quezon City, Metro Manila - 42

Sinait, Ilocos Sur - 42

Laoag City, Ilocos Norte - 44

Dagupan City, Pangasinan - 45

MMSU, Batac, Ilocos Norte - 43

Bacnotan, La Union - 42


Aparri, Cagayan - 45

Tuguegarao City, Cagayan - 44

ISU Echague in Isabela - 44


Baler (Radar), Aurora - 43

Casiguran, Aurora - 42

Iba, Zambales - 42

Cubi Pt, Subic Bay, Olongapo City - 43

San Ildefonso, Bulacan - 42

TAU Camiling, Tarlac - 43


Sangley Point, Cavite City in Cavite - 44

Ambulong, Tanauan, Batangas - 43

San Jose, Occidental Mindoro - 42

Cuyo, Palawan - 43

Daet, Camarines Norte - 42

Legazpi City, Albay - 42

Catarman, Northern Samar - 42

The intertropical convergence zone is affecting Mindanao and Palawan while the easterlies are affecting the rest of the country.

Mindanao, Negros Oriental, Siquijor, and Palawan will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the ITCZ while Eastern Samar, Leyte, and Southern Leyte will experience similar weather  due to the easterlies.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies.
