A new low pressure area has formed over Sulu Sea and is expected to bring rains in various parts of the country.

According to ABS-CBN's resident weather forecaster Ariel Rojas, the LPA was spotted over the coastal waters of Cuyo, Palawan at 3 p.m.

It is unlikely to form into a tropical cyclone but may bring rains over Metro Manila, Southern Luzon, and Visayas.

State weather bureau PAGASA said cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms will affect  Metro Manila, Visayas, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, and Bicol Region this weekend.
