MANILA — All four lanes of Marilao northbound at the North Luzon Expressway will be opened beginning 1 a.m. on Wednesday, March 26.

NLEX Corporation, in a statement Tuesday, said all the lanes will be passable, but the supporting steel poles will remain on the lanes to “allow concrete curing of the bridge”.

“With this development, traffic flow in Marilao Northbound will now improve and normalize in the next few days,” it added.

The Marilao Bridge sustained damage after an over height truck exceeding the vertical clearance rammed into the structure on March 19.

Initial reports from authorities revealed that the truck was 4.9 meters high while the vertical clearance of the bridge is only 4.25 meters.

This resulted to a standstill traffic in the area last Wednesday, with only two lanes available for motorists in the northbound lane. 

NLEX earlier said it expects to finish the repairs by March 31.
