MANILA — A low pressure area (LPA) formed inside the Philippine area of responsibility on Tuesday afternoon, state weather bureau PAGASA said.

The LPA was spotted 905 kilometers east of southeastern Mindanao at 3 p.m.

The weather bureau said the LPA was unlikely to form into a tropical cyclone in the next 24 hours.

However, it may bring scattered rains over Eastern Visayas and Mindanao. The agency warned the residents of these areas against possible flash floods or landslides during moderate to heavy rains.

PAGASA earlier said that the country was transitioning into the warm and dry season. It has yet to declare the end of the northeast monsoon or Amihan season.
