A weaker northeast monsoon continues to cool parts of Northern Luzon but may soon be terminated within the week, ushering in the warm and dry season, weather bureau PAGASA said Monday.

This means the number of dry and warm days across the country will continue to increase, although isolated thunderstorms are also likely to occur, usually in the afternoon or evening.

PAGASA weather forecaster Ana Clauren Jordan said the amihan continues to weaken and may only affect extreme Northern Luzon within the week.

ABS-CBN's resident meteorologist Ariel Rojas noted temperatures dropped to 13 degrees Celsius in Baguio City and the rest of the Cordillera Region due to the amihan.

Davao Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, SOCCSKSARGEN, and BARMM are facing cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the Intertropical Convergence Zone.

Bicol Region, Western Visayas, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Samar, Romblon, and Palawan will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the easterlies while Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Cagayan Valley will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the northeast monsoon.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies.

PAGASA is not monitoring any low pressure area for tropical cyclone formation.

Heat index levels across the country are below danger levels this Monday, the bureau said.
