MANILA — Motorists can expect light traffic on North Luzon Expressway this weekend, March 23, an official said Sunday.

Robin Ignacio, head of traffic operations department of NLEX, told TeleRadyo Serbisyo that following the slow-moving traffic on Saturday night, travelers can anticipate minimal traffic today.

"Mula pasado alas-9 kagabi, light traffic na sa area — magkabilang direksyon at maging sa lahat ng areas sa NLEX at SCTEX (Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway)," Ignacio said.

NLEX Corporation said on Saturday that they are expecting to finish the repairs on the Marilao Interchange in Bulacan, next week, March 31.

The bridge was damaged after a truck rammed into the structure Wednesday morning, which resulted in heavy traffic this week.

Ignacio said that the shoring or the installation of the vertical steel support on sections beneath the Interchange was completed on March 21.

Because of this, motorists can now use three lanes on the affected area to ease traffic congestion.
