Weather bureau PAGASA issued Thursday a red warning over Eastern Samar and Samar due to threat of serious flooding brought by heavy rainfall caused by the shear line and easterlies.

As of 8 a.m., the red warning is hoisted over Eastern Samar and Samar, orange warning over Biliran and Leyte and yellow warning over Albay, Sorsogon, Northern Samar, Southern Leyte, Dinagat Islands, parts of Surigao del Norte and parts of Surigao del Sur.

PAGASA earlier said heavy to intense (100-200 mm) rains will affect Northern Samar and Eastern Samar while moderate to heavy (50-100 mm) rains will affect Quezon, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Albay, Sorsogon, Masbate, Samar, Biliran, Leyte, Southern Leyte, Dinagat Islands, and Surigao del Norte this Thursday.
