MANILA – Senatorial candidate Bonifacio Bosita on Tuesday said he would push for a law that would protect motorists who were apprehended wrongly, saying there should be a policy to penalize road authorities. 

Bosita said the Failed Traffic Apprehension Bill is still pending in the House of Representatives at the committee level. 

“Sa kasalukuyan, kapag mali ang huli, nag-contest ang motorista, cancel lang ang huli. Walang danyos, walang parusa sa pulis o enforcer,” said the 1Rider Party-list representative. 

“Dapat kapag mali ang huli sa’yo, may danyos. Kapag napatunayan,” he said. 

Bosita said aside from advocating for motorists’ rights, he wants to fight for corruption in transportation agencies. 

“Maraming beses, paulit-ulit nating napatunayan, LTO enforcers, district officers, inpectors, evaluators. Hindi marunong. So ibig sabihin, puwedeng mabiktima (ang publiko),” he said.
