MANILA — Cold weather from the amihan will peak in mid-February, PAGASA said.

“Yung amihan, inaasahan po natin na buong February ay iiral pa rin po ito. Ito yung peak season po natin, hanggang mid-Feb po,” PAGASA weather forecaster Ana Clauren-Jorda told TeleRadyo Serbisyo.

On Friday, the amihan or northeast monsoon will bring cloudy skies with rains over Cagayan Valley, the Cordilleras, Aurora, and Quezon.

Metro Manila, Rizal, Ilocos Region, and the rest of Central Luzon will experience partly cloudy to could skies with isolated light rains due to the amihan, the state weather bureau added.

PAGASA said the rest of the country could experience isolated rain showers or thunderstorms caused by easterlies or the warm winds from the Pacific.

The weather agency has not monitored any low pressure area or tropical cyclone, Clauren-Jorda said.
