MANILA — Amihan or the cold air associated with Christmas will start to bring chillier days to Metro Manila and other areas by the second week of December, PAGASA said.

She added that a low pressure area could form next week.

“Meron tayong nakikitang mga tropical cyclone-like vertices. Posible po itong maging low pressure area dahil by next week,” Clauren-Jorda said.

One or 2 cyclones could form around the Philippines in December, the weather forecaster said.

In the meantime, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan, and Isabela will experience scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms on Friday due to the shear line, an area where cold and warm air meet.

The amihan or northeast monsoon will bring cloudy skies with light rains over Batanes, while Metro Manila and the rest of the country could experience localized thunderstorms, PAGASA said.
