The shear line and intertropical convergence zone will bring moderate to heavy rain in Cagayan, Apayao, Isabela, Aurora, Quezon, Camarines Norte, Palawan, Sorsogon, Northern Samar, Samar, Eastern Samar, Biliran, Leyte, Southern Leyte, Zamboanga del Norte, Negros Oriental, Siquijor, and Dinagat Islands on Rizal Day, December 30, 2024, weather bureau PAGASA said.

As of 4 a.m., the shear line is affecting the eastern sections of Central and Southern Luzon while the ITCZ is affecting Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao.

The northeast monsoon, meanwhile, is affecting Northern Luzon and the rest of Central Luzon.

PAGASA said Mainland Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, Quezon, Rizal, Laguna, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, and Catanduanes will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms due to the shear line.

Zamboanga Peninsula, the rest of MIMAROPA, the rest of Bicol Region, Caraga, Davao Oriental, Misamis Occidental, Misamis Oriental, Lanao del Norte, and Lanao del Sur will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the ITCZ.

Cordillera Administrative Region and the rest of Cagayan Valley will experience cloudy skies with rains while Ilocos Region and the rest of Central Luzon will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the northeast monsoon.

The weather bureau Is not monitoring any low pressure area for tropical cyclone formation as of 2 a.m. Monday.
