<div><br id="isPasted"/></div><div><br/></div><p>MANILA — Most parts of the Philippines will experience hot and humid weather on Friday and this weekend despite the start of the amihan season, state weather bureau PAGASA said. </p><div><br/></div><p>PAGASA earlier this week declared the start of the amihan season, which is associated with colder Christmas weather. </p><div><br/></div><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/2024/11/19/amihan-season-has-arrived-pagasa-1415">Amihan season is here: PAGASA</a></div><div><br/></div><p>But the weather system’s effect was still limited to Luzon’s northern tip, PAGASA weather forecaster Chenel Dominguez said. </p><div><br/></div><p>“Sa mga kababayan natin na nagtataka kung bakit sobrang init pa rin po kahit may northeast monsoon na po tayo, dulot po ito ng hindi pa po ito umiiral sa malakaking bahagi ng ating bansa at dito lang siya sa may extreme northern Luzon,” Dominguez told TeleRadyo Serbisyo. </p><div><br/></div><p>“Iyan po ang magiging panahon natin hanggang hindi pa po bumubugso itong northeast monsoon,” she added. </p><div><br/></div><script data-wid="auto" type="text/javascript" src="https://content.viralize.tv/display/?zid=AAEyze-tm4MR6kEa&amp;cid=ABQtL08f_rjFVj7t&amp;activation=adfill&amp;vip_mode=no"></script><p>Batanes and the Babuyan islands will experience cloudy skies with light rains due to northeast monsoon, while Caraga, Davao Region, and Southern Leyte could expect scattered rains due to easterlies, PAGASA said. </p><div><br/></div><p>It said Metro Manila and the rest of the country would see hot and humid weather with brief localized thunderstorms in the afternoon or evening. </p><div><br/></div><p>No cyclone or brewing storm was spotted around the Philippine area of responsibility on Friday, Dominguez noted.  </p><div><br/></div><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/regions/2024/11/21/12-reported-dead-due-to-typhoons-nika-ofel-pepito-ndrrmc-1333">12 reported dead due to typhoons Nika, Ofel, Pepito: NDRRMC</a></div>
