MANILA — HONOR formally unveiled their newest flagship phone, the Magic7 Pro, to the Philippine market on Thursday.

AI is at the core of the smartphone, from its cameras, image processing, operating system, display, even a dedicated button for Google Gemini. With AI, the flagship aims to deliver a more intuitive, intelligent, and secure user experience. 

But the Magic7 Pro has another nifty trick up its sleeve. With the recent rise of deepfakes and the scams associated with them, HONOR has also built a deepfake detector in the phone itself!

First Impressions

My first thoughts when using the phone was operations felt smooth, apparently due to the 120Hz adaptive refresh rate display and its natural light Honor AI Eye Comfort Display. 

Also, it helps that it carries the latest chipset in the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite which handled productivity with ease. However, there was a bit of bloatware installed when I opened the phone for the first time.

The cameras are the ones I looked forward to use since I shoot photos and videos for work. At first glance, photos and videos are punchy and crisp. I also like the user experience with the camera app.
