MANILA - HONOR Philippines launched another midrange phone, with a focus on style instead of toughness.

The new X8c phone, which features a flat screen instead of the curving display of the brand's other offerings, bares some similarity to the iPhone in design.  

HONOR however also said that the X8c is as durable as its X9c series launched earlier this year. The new phone also carries an IP64 rating for water and dust resistance, as well as anti-drop protection.

The X8c features two cameras at the back, a 108MP main camera and a 5MP ultrawide camera. According to the company, the X8c has Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) for steady night photography and multiple focal options for unique portrait styles. It can also shoot 1080p video with up to 8x digital zoom.

It also has a 50MP front camera for shooting selfies and boasts of features like AI wide-angle selfies and the AI Eraser.

“With its powerful camera system, intelligent features, and exceptional durability, we’re excited to bring a smartphone that elevates how Filipinos connect, create, and share moments that matter most,” said Stephen Cheng, Vice President for Marketing at HONOR Philippines.

Other noteworthy specs are the X8c's 5000mAh battery with 35W charging, and a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and FHD+ (2412 x 1080)resolution and up to 2800 nits of brightness.

The new phone uses the Snapdragon 685 coupled with different memory and storage options starting with 6GB+128GB up to 8GB+512GB. It comes in three colorways: Midnight Black, Moonlight White, and a very distinctive 'Marrs Green'. Prices start at P13,999 which includes freebies, HONOR said.
