MANILA — Samsung has unveiled its new Galaxy S25 phones with improved artificial intelligence (AI) features that make creating and editing photos and videos easier.

Upgrading its "circle-to-search" function, Samsung said users can now search for the titles and artists of songs in the background of their favorite videos.

The Gallery also allows users to edit their videos by removing or reducing noise, voice, or the sounds of wind in the background. 

The Galaxy S25 Ultra also has a tech pen and a Drawing Assist Feature, which can make images in different art styles prompted by the user.

The new Galaxy S25 phones also include NowBrief, which gives users an overview of the news, the weather, and even their schedule for the day. The NowBrief will be part of the phone's NowBar, which puts all of users' most used apps on their lock screen, along with the controls for their music and video.

Apart from these, the new units also boast of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, and a 120 Hz refresh rate, giving gamers a smoother, more realistic, and more vivid gaming experience. They also run on Android 15.

The highest-end Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra has a 6.9-inch screen and four cameras at the back: a 50MP ultra-wide camera , a 200 MP wide camera , a 50MP 5x zoom telephoto camera , a 10MP 3x zoom telephoto camera . It also has a 12MP front camera. 

It runs on a 12 GB memory, but storage can be boosted up to 1TB. The 1TB version is available at P110,990. The one with 512GB is at P93,990, while the 256GB is P84,990.

The phone has a 5,000 mAh battery and has a Corning® Gorilla® Armor 2 screen--a scratch-resistant, anti-reflective glass ceramic cover screen.

The Galaxy S25+, meanwhile, has a slightly smaller screen at 6.7 inches. It has three cameras at the back: a 12MP ultra-wide camera, a 50 MP wide camera , a 10MP 3x zoom telephoto camera. Like its bigger sibling, the S25+ has a 12MP front camera.

Memory is also at 12 GB, and storage can be expanded to 512GB (P76,990) or 256GB (P67,990). It has a 4,900 mAh battery.

The S25 has the same camera as the S25+, but the screen is smaller at 6.2 inches. Memory is likewise at 12GB, but storage can be expanded to 512GB (P60,990), 256GB (P51,990), or 128GB. Its battery is at 4,000 mAh. Samsung's latest flagship phones are available on Shopee.

There are discounts for users who pre-register, and flexible payment via credit card or HomeCredit is available.

In 2024, Samsung added translation and transcription features to its phones in a bid to push back against Apple in terms of smartphone sales.
