MANILA — A number of educational institutions on Friday, January 24, reported problems with access to their websites that use the edu.ph domain.

Universities such as the University of the Philippines, University of Santo Tomas, Universidad de Manila, and University of the East posted on their social media accounts informing their students and other stakeholders of a technical issue that might affect access to their online services.

The Department of Information and Communications Technology said on Friday it is ready to assist the PHNET in resolving the issues of edu.ph users in the country following a "distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack."
