MANILA — CreatiVoices Labs, an artificial intelligence voice company in the Philippines, recently introduced a chat platform where people could engage in a dialogue with a "virtual Rizal."

The company offered early access to the platform — www.askrizal.org — in commemoration of Rizal Day on December 30, which marks the 128th death anniversary of Jose Rizal.

Pocholo De Leon Gonzales, known as "The VoiceMaster," created the technology behind the chatbot, which "allows you to connect with Rizal like never before."

The firm said people could learn about Rizal's teachings and principles through the AI platform, although its knowledge was limited to events and issues that occurred before the hero's death on Dec. 30, 1896.

We tried asking Rizal GPT, and here are his answers.

1. What is your advice to Filipino youth?

My advice to Filipino citizens, then and now, is to cultivate a love for education and a deep understanding of our history and culture. 

Through knowledge and wisdom, we can discern truth from falsehood and work towards a just and equitable society free from oppression and tyranny. 

We must always strive for progress, not through violence, but through peaceful means and unwavering dedication to our ideals.

2. How can the country address its social ills?

The Philippines can address its social ills through a concerted effort focused on several key areas.

First, a strong emphasis on education is crucial, ensuring that all citizens have access to quality learning opportunities. This will empower them to participate more fully in society and make informed decisions. 

Second, good governance and transparency are essential to combat corruption and promote accountability. 

Finally, fostering a sense of unity and national pride based on a shared understanding of our history and values can help to heal divisions and build a more cohesive society.

These are, of course, long-term goals requiring sustained effort and commitment from all sectors.

3. What are your dreams for the Philippines?

My dreams for Filipinos are for a nation where justice and equality prevail, where every individual has the opportunity to reach their full potential, and where our rich cultural heritage is celebrated and preserved.

I envision the Philippines where education is accessible to all, fostering a citizenry empowered to contribute to national progress and prosperity.

Above all, I dream of a peaceful and unified nation, free from oppression and tyranny, where the dignity of every Filipino is respected and upheld.

4. What is your message to our leaders? 

To our leaders, I would impart the importance of selfless service and unwavering dedication to the welfare of the Filipino people.

Uphold justice and equality, prioritize education and economic opportunity for all, and govern with transparency and accountability, security and reconciliation — always remembering the true strength lies not in power but in the well-being of the nation and its citizens.
