<p>MANILA — The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency is investigating the possible emergence of a new group, allegedly of Indian nationals and believed to be behind the distribution of cocaine and other illegal drugs.</p><p>The probe follows a buy-bust operation conducted early Saturday morning that led to the arrest of <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/regions/2026/2/21/p233-m-cocaine-seized-2-indian-nationals-arrested-in-laguna-buy-bust-1048">two Indian nationals</a> inside a house in Villa de Calamba, Barangay La Mesa, Calamba City, Laguna.</p><p>“Yan ang ating tinitingnan ngayon, may emerging group ba nang Indian national?” said PDEA spokesperson Atty. Joseph Frederick Calulut.</p><p>Authorities seized 44 kilograms of suspected cocaine valued at P233.2 million from the suspects.</p><p>Calulut noted that the house appeared unoccupied and was likely being used as illegal drugs storage facility.</p><p>“Parang ang nangyari doon na lang iniimbak yung mga droga kung may bibili kukuha na lang sila doon,” he said.</p><p>He added that PDEA is conducting a background investigation and is also checking on other possible associates of the suspects, noting that the two arrested individuals are registered as legitimate businessmen in the country.</p><p>The suspects are facing charges for violations of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (Republic Act 9165), which penalize the sale and possession of illegal drugs.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/1/5/ncrpo-says-it-seized-p866-6-m-worth-of-illegal-drugs-in-2025-1815">NCRPO says it seized P866.6-M worth of illegal drugs in 2025</a></div><div><br/></div><div><strong>RELATED VIDEO:</strong></div><div style="text-align:center"><iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/DDWbgj6yopA?si=iz2TuaeBp4Bq6GsE" title="YouTube video player" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe></div>
