Handout/PCG-Southern Tagalog </div>MANILA -- The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has intensified its air and sea search operations to locate four fishermen from Lian who were reported missing in the waters off Occidental Mindoro.According to the PCG, its substation in Lian received the report on Sunday, February 9, regarding the disappearance of the fishermen who were aboard a green and red motorbanca named MJ2.The fishermen reportedly departed Lian, Batangas at around 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, heading toward the waters near Ambil Island and Lubang Island. They were expected to return by 7:00 a.m. on Sunday but have since been unreachable.The missing fishermen are all residents of Barangay Luyahan in Lian.The PCG&#x27;s BN Islander 251 aircraft has been conducting aerial sweeps across the vicinity of Ambil and Lubang Islands to locate the fishermen.Coast Guard Substations in Lian, Nasugbu, and Lubang are working together with the Marine Environmental Protection Enforcement Response Team and Coast Guard Mobile Posts in Agkawayan and Talaotalao to carry out coastal security patrols.The 44-meter multi-role response vessel BRP Cabra has also been deployed to assist in surface search operations.The PCG has issued radio broadcasts to all fishing boats and commercial vessels passing near Lubang Island, urging them to immediately report any sightings of the missing fishermen aboard motorbanca MJ2.&quot;Our teams are working tirelessly across air, sea, and land to bring our fishermen home. The PCG is utilizing every available resource and maintaining close coordination with local maritime communities to ensure a wide surveillance network,&quot; said Geronimo Tuvilla, Commander of Coast Guard District Southern Tagalog.The PCG also appealed to residents in nearby communities to assist in the ongoing search efforts.
