ORMOC CITY — Former actress Lucy Torres-Gomez was moved to tears upon being officially proclaimed mayor of Ormoc City by the City Board of Canvassers.
Torres-Gomez clinched her second term, earning 90,153 votes. She triumphed over Violy Codilla, widow of the late former Ormoc City Mayor Edward "Ondo" Codilla, who garnered 51,791 votes.

Also proclaimed was Vice Mayor-elect Leo Carmelo “Toto” Locsin, Jr., along with the full roster of councilors, all running under the Ormoc Development Team. The slate campaigned under the banner of sustained peace, progress, and good governance in the city.

In an emotional proclamation speech, Torres-Gomez gave glory to God and reflected on the journey of her political team.
