MANILA — Three explosions were reported in Lanao del Sur and Maguindanao del Sur on election day, May 12.

The blasts occurred in Calanogas, Lanao del Sur; and in Datu Anggal Midtimbang and Datu Piang, both in Maguindanao del Sur, said Lt. Col. Jopy Ventura, spokesperson of the Police Regional Office – Bangsamoro Autonomous Region.

Ventura told a briefing that the explosion in Datu Piang happened at around 1:40 a.m. Monday, or hours before voters head to the midterm polls.

It injured a 32-year-old female, who was immediately treated for injuries and is now in "stable" condition.
